Melina & Paul’s Watertown Wedding at the Commander’s Mansion

I posted couple pre-wedding pictures of Melina & Paul last week.   Now here are more pictures from Melina & Paul’s wedding held at the Commander’s Mansion in Watertown, Massachusetts.  For any future brides & grooms reading this post, I have to say, the Commander’s Mansion is a very nice venue.  The surrounding grounds and the mansion itself create a very romantic and intimate setting for a wedding.

Melina made the most beautiful mermaid-style wedding dress, designed by her of course. It had a very Elizabeth Taylor look to it.  The bodice was silk with a lace bottom, accented by a silver & lavender silk ribbon and a row of buttons down the back.  I was very impressed by her craftsmanship.

In addition to making her own dress, she also designed and made all of herbridesmaids dresses. Again, I was blown away by Melina’s talent (& style.)

For flower arrangements they used a wide variety of flowers including hydrangeas and carnations for the topiaries, as well as dahlias, freesia, roses, and lavenders for other floral centerpieces.  The flowers were purchased at the Flower Exchange in Boston and Melina (& her wedding party) prepared the arrangements 24 hours before the wedding, keeping all the arrangements in a well-air conditioned room

The groom and groomsmen wore grey tuxedos rented from Classic Tuxedo in Boston.

Instead of traditional place cards, they used sharpies to write their guests names on rocks.  They named each table after places that had special meaning to the bride and groom, for example, where they met and where went on their first date.

Congratulations Melina & Paul!
